About The Position

Metro Infusion Center, affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to supervise and administer infusion therapy at its Bloomington and Peoria, Illinois clinics. The role is scheduled for three days per week, 24 hours total, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on flexible weekdays. The nurse will travel between both clinics during the week. Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• At least two years of RN office practice experience.
• Infusion experience.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A and B, influenza, and COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

• RN office practice experience in an infusion-related practice.
• Chemo experience.

Responsibilities

• Place peripheral lines for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications, and document the activity in the medical record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, communicating information to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• E-prescribe prescriptions at a doctor's order and communicate with pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for the next day's appointments, ordering laboratory results, consult reports, or notes as necessary, and document required fields in the EMR.
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule office visits as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs and establish priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities that facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility.
• Support professional practice in accordance with nursing practice standards, JCAHO requirements, state and local laws, and MIDC policy.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
