About The Position

The Senior Enterprise Monitoring & Event Management Engineer designs, administers, integrates, automates, and supports AEP’s enterprise monitoring and event management platforms. The role serves as a technical subject matter expert for IBM Netcool Operations Insight (NOI), event correlation, alert automation, monitoring integrations, ServiceNow Event Management, and enterprise observability solutions. The engineer designs and maintains monitoring solutions across infrastructure, applications, databases, cloud environments, and business-critical systems, while advancing automation, event reduction, incident response, and platform modernization. The position requires deep expertise in Linux administration, monitoring platforms, scripting, event management, system integrations, and production support in a large enterprise environment. As part of a larger infrastructure team, the engineer independently completes and leads complex infrastructure assignments; plans, researches, evaluates, designs, and engineers enterprise technology infrastructure; and provides technical support, troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, recommendations, documentation, and configuration support. The role also helps manage, plan, maintain, upgrade, and monitor technical platforms, and collaborates with project managers, architects, solution engineers, technicians, and business analysts to deliver reliable solutions aligned with AEP standards and best practices. The position participates in an on-call rotation and critical incident response. The listed physical demand level is sedentary: sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing and exertion of up to 10 pounds occasionally.
