As an Infrastructure Engineer Sr., within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh PA, Cleveland OH, Birmingham AL, Phoenix AZ or Dallas TX. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. You will be a part of the Digital Workplace Desktop Engineering team. Work in this role will be varied and include development, planning, delivery, and oversight of large projects that impact our user base of 50,000+ users and 100,000 Windows PC’s and mobile devices.

Requirements

  • A wide range of end user technology experience in an environment where scale matters.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Intune – including some combination of Autopilot, Windows Update for Business, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and endpoint security (Microsoft Defender). Experience with migration from legacy platforms (e.g., SCCM/MECM) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with legacy SCCM / MECM Operating System Deployment (OSD). Ability to develop and troubleshoot complex deployment Task Sequences is required.
  • Endpoint Automation – mastery of endpoint automation via Microsoft PowerShell or similar technologies.
  • Broad and deep experience with endpoint hardware (desktops, laptops, monitor, kiosk, etc.) including device selection, certification, and ongoing upkeep/management.
  • Proven ability to deliver new and improve existing technologies - more capable, more scalable, faster, easier to support, cheaper, etc.
  • Proven ability to gather requirements, understand and track future direction/plans of vendors; and communicate those plans and their benefits to PNC. Similarly, understands and helps determine the needs of our customers, with experience in identifying and developing the solutions that add significant value.
  • Proven experience as a technical lead on major projects - leading through all phases of the product/project lifecycle including planning, design, test, certify, implement, support, and optimize. Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • The passion and ability to make a difference in projects of all sizes. Demonstrates energy and a desire to succeed; follows through on commitments; pushes self and others to deliver exceptional results.
  • Senior level experience working in a large environment, (40,000+ endpoints)
  • Ability to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with migration from legacy platforms (e.g., SCCM/MECM) is preferred.

  • Provides expertise on platform engineering, while overseeing the team's effort and meeting customer needs.
  • Uses technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions.
  • Develops software components and hardware for complex projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives.
  • Provides expertise on best practices, standards, engineering approaches and complex technical resolutions for processes.
  • Places emphasis on quality improvement efforts; ensures that deliverables are secure, scalable and reliable through estimation and correction.
  • Communicates with customers and integrates their needs with development, to meet business objectives.
