About The Position

Benesch is seeking an Infrastructure Administrator in their Cleveland office. This position is hybrid with work from home flexibility. The role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company's network and core infrastructure, providing Tier III support for company systems, and playing a crucial role on Benesch's infrastructure team. The Infrastructure Administrator will administer, patch, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain infrastructure systems to ensure security, reliability, and performance across the firm. This role involves planning, executing, and documenting firm-wide patching and hardening initiatives, supporting new office and datacenter buildouts, monitoring performance and health, and assisting with the coordination, installation, and testing of wired and wireless LAN/WAN network services and related security procedures. Travel to Benesch offices and datacenters is required as needed. A commitment to excellence, self-management, continuous improvement, and automation is essential.

Requirements

  • 5 years' strong experience as a Network/Systems Administrator, or related position.
  • Experience in professional services environments is preferred.
  • Both Network administration and Microsoft administration skills are needed.
  • Understanding of basic security best practices with respect to administration and some familiarity with security frameworks like NIST / ISO.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively.
  • Strong analytical abilities are required.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and the ability to work well with clients and other groups.
  • Scripting experience in Powershell, Ansible for Software Defined Networking and Patching
  • Physical Datacenter/Office rack buildout. Copper and fiber Ethernet design. Power, Cooling. Redundant network switching.
  • Network switching layer 2/3 VLAN, wireless LAN, routing, switching
  • Managing Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory enterprise environments.
  • Network administration for equivalent vendors Arista/Cisco/Meraki, Switches and Palo Firewalls.
  • AD/Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies such as Entra, Azure networking
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure and software defined networking
  • Professional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Network+ and Security+ are recommended.
  • Certifications in related technologies a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational administration and partners with Cybersecurity to perform patching, remediation, and system hardening; proactively addresses newly identified vulnerabilities across the infrastructure.
  • Supports IT Infrastructure planning and hands-on implementation for new offices and office expansions, coordinating with firm staff and contractors from design and procurement through equipment racking, cabling/patching, and the installation of wireless access points and cameras.
  • Manages, configures, and maintains IT infrastructure hardware, cloud, and software, including but not limited to Active Directory/GPOs, network infrastructure, VMware and HyperV clusters, Microsoft 365, and other infrastructure applications such as Config management, Monitoring, NPS, VPN, RDP, etc.
  • Configures, administers, and maintains physical network infrastructure and core network services (SD-WAN, DNS, DHCP, BGP/OSPF, VLANs, and ACLs), including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and routers.
  • Monitors network health and performs hardware replacements and firmware upgrades as needed.
  • Investigates and remediates alerts and cybersecurity requests.
  • Assists in system monitoring, reviewing infrastructure and application logs, and verifying configured technical controls.
  • Assists with enterprise line of business application support and provides Tier III helpdesk support.
  • Evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements specific software and network solutions.
  • Develops and maintains complete and accurate technical documentation of network layout, server hardware and software configurations, firewall and router configurations.
  • Evaluates and implements applications, systems, and operational practices to ensure the Firm's server infrastructure consistently meets SLAs and performance expectations for availability, capacity growth, and functionality.
  • Maintains documentation for network processes and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
