About The Position

An Information Technology Project Manager IV who thrives on planning and allocating resources for projects designing, developing, implementing and managing technologies.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of budgeting and planning procedures as they relate to project management activities.
  • Considerable knowledge of project management principles and practices including work breakdown structure development.
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of project contract development and management.
  • Ability to manage projects with phased implementations, multiple business units, vendors, and consultants.
  • Considerable knowledge of business analysis methods and application.
  • Understanding of technology basics.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; negotiation and conflict management abilities.
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of meeting facilitation techniques.
  • Competency with office automation and tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, information technology, or a related field OR Certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) and three (3) years or more of experience in information technology where the primary role was project manager OR Five (5) years or more of experience in information technology where the primary role was project manager.

Responsibilities

  • Create, execute, and review project work plans, including scope, schedule, and cost; revise as appropriate.
  • Identify and coordinate assignment of resources and ensure resource plan is carried out.
  • Monitor and control day-to-day operational aspects of one or more projects; provide oversight of a project portfolio.
  • Review deliverables prepared by vendors for consistency with requirements.
  • Minimize risk through leadership of risk mitigation planning.
  • Document management, including version control and creation of project records.
  • Track team hours, progress in terms of scope, and expenses.
  • Develop and administer project budgets.
  • Prepare and present information to management or the legislature.
  • Supervise and/or mentor junior staff for both project and career growth; make staff development recommendations.
  • Perform related duties as required.
