An Information Technology Project Manager III who thrives on planning and allocating resources for projects designing, developing, implementing and managing technologies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of budgeting and planning procedures as they relate to project management activities.
  • Knowledge of project management methods and application.
  • Knowledge of contract review and management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Understanding of technology basics.
  • Competent with office automation and tools.
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of meeting facilitation techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, information technology, or a related field OR Certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) and two (2) years or more of experience in information technology where the primary role was project manager OR Four (4) years or more of experience in information technology where the primary role was project manager

Responsibilities

  • Create, baseline, and execute project work plans, including scope, schedule, and cost; revise as appropriate.
  • Identify and coordinate assignment of resources and ensure resource plan is carried out.
  • Monitor and control day-to-day operational aspects of one or more projects; may provide oversight of a project portfolio.
  • Review deliverables prepared by vendors for consistency with requirements.
  • Minimize risk through leadership of risk mitigation planning.
  • Document management, including version control and creation of project records.
  • Track team hours, progress in terms of scope, and expenses.
  • Develop and administer project budgets.
  • Prepare and present information to management or the legislature.
  • Supervise and/or mentor junior staff for both project and career growth.
  • Perform related duties as required.
