About The Position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Intern to gain hands-on experience across business functions while contributing to the team. The internship is in-person at the company's St. Petersburg, Florida location from May 17 to August 5, 2027. The intern supports technical employees and end users, assists with technical tasks and projects, and learns established technical processes and procedures. No prior experience is needed.

Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in related technical courses or be within six months of graduation.
Must be enrolled in a technical college or degree-seeking program.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Oral and written communication skills.
Attentiveness.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Must be able to remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
Requires regular movement throughout company facilities and may require standing for long periods.

Nice To Haves

Information Technology or Computer Science degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide support to technical employees working in an organizational function related to the intern's area of study.
Assist with technical tasks and project support.
Support equipment setup and monitor tests and experiments.
Observe results, collect data, and compile summaries and reports.
Learn technical processes and procedures.
Job shadow experienced professionals and support staff.
Support documentation and updates of procedures or work instructions.
Handle basic issues and problems.
Support end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues.
Use established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and meet operational service levels and standards.
