About The Position

The Information Technology Graduate Assistant supports Loyola Notre Dame Library’s educational technologies, makerspace tools, and staff hardware and software. This role provides support for staff and library technology, including troubleshooting issues and assisting with technology inventory maintenance. The part-time assistant sets up, maintains, and removes hardware as needed. This position assists in maintaining a technology inventory, creating documentation, organizing library hardware storage, and providing assistance for staff, patrons, classes, and events.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support for library patrons and staff, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues and maintaining computer systems
  • Provides support for library staff technology challenges and ensures issue resolution
  • Assists in the management, tracking, and optimization of technology assets to ensure accurate and up-to-date records in SysAid and in hardware storage
  • Assesses the effectiveness of automated technology updates and other processes
  • Assists in developing and maintaining library technology documentation
  • Assists in implementing new technology and providing support and guidance to staff during the transition
