About The Position

This position ensures the continuity and daily operation of critical business technology systems through active application support, system integration, and the development of automated workflows. By collaborating with organizational leaders and technical teams, the Programmer/Analyst proactively identifies opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency of cross functional tools like document management and data validation systems. Ultimately, this role serves as a resourceful technical partner dedicated to troubleshooting complex issues and implementing innovative solutions that support the district’s evolving operational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrable equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to manage job scheduling, workflow automation, and server-side processes to enhance operational efficiency
  • Understanding of traditional software development life cycle
  • Working knowledge of business systems and applications such as ERP systems, with the ability to manage confidential data appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructions for nontechnical stakeholders and district leadership
  • A proactive approach to troubleshooting and a demonstrated ability to independently research and implement new technology solutions.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in application development and support
  • Experience working with database systems and application-tier environments
  • Experience supporting and maintaining system integrations and workflow processes
  • Hands-on experience programming for Microsoft applications and T-SQL for database management, query optimization, and application development

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the reliability of enterprise business applications by managing daily operations and serving as the primary backup for critical systems managed by the Senior Programmer.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative in researching emerging educational technologies and proposing integration strategies.
  • Resolve application, data, and integration issues through root-cause analysis, escalating to vendors or senior staff only when necessary.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, custom reports, and basic applications to provide actionable data for district stakeholders.
  • Drive efficiency by designing, testing, and maintaining automated jobs, scheduled tasks, and cross-system integrations.
  • Administer user access and security roles to maintain strict data integrity and ensure compliance with district privacy standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and end-users to translate business needs into technical requirements and streamlined digital workflows.
  • Author and maintain comprehensive documentation for system processes and end-user procedures to ensure institutional continuity and training.
