About The Position

The BYU Marriott School of Business is seeking a relationship-focused professional to serve as an Information Systems Career Manager within the Business Career Center. This ¾ time (28 hrs/week) role plays a key part in supporting the career development and placement of Information Systems students by providing career coaching, fostering employer and alumni partnerships, and coordinating programs that connect students with meaningful internship and employment opportunities. Working closely with students, employers, alumni, faculty, and campus partners, this position helps prepare students for successful careers in technology, business, and STEM-related fields while advancing the mission of the Information Systems program and the Business Career Center.

Requirements

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics or a related field and 2 years experience in targeted industries such as Corporate Finance, Financial Services, Accounting, Banking, Consulting OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to engage with students, alumni, and employers.
  • Exhibit understanding of Christ-like leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) or specialized Master’s Degree in Technology or Data related field and 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Advising/mentoring experience – recruiter experience.
  • Technical role/experience desired – IS or STEM or Business.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Information Systems students on career exploration, recruiting strategies, internship opportunities, and professional development.
  • Provide individual and group career coaching to help students prepare for successful careers in technology, business, and STEM-related fields.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and alumni to create recruiting, networking, and mentorship opportunities for students.
  • Connect students with employers, alumni, and industry professionals to support career readiness and placement outcomes.
  • Conduct outreach to develop new employer and alumni partnerships and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Coordinate career-related events, including networking opportunities, employer information sessions, career fairs, and industry visits.
  • Provide direction and support to student employees assisting with career services programs, events, and outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to enhance student engagement, career development, and placement success.
