About The Position
Bear River Valley Hospital is seeking an unpaid volunteer to contribute time to Intermountain Healthcare at the information desk. Volunteers welcome patients, visitors, and staff; provide directions and information; answer questions; and help create a positive hospital experience. The role may also involve escorting people and assisting with wheelchairs. Availability is limited to one three-hour weekly shift: Monday, 9 a.m.–noon; Thursday, noon–3 p.m.; or Friday, 9 a.m.–noon. Volunteers must make a minimum six-month commitment.
Requirements
- Friendly, dependable, and professional.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to stand, walk, and push a wheelchair as needed.
- Commit to one three-hour shift per week for at least six months.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff.
- Provide directions and information, and escort people as needed.
- Assist with wheelchairs.
- Keep the desk area organized and welcoming.
