About The Position

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus. The role involves delivering informatics solutions that support clinical practice from planning through full adoption. The position serves as a bridge between clinical and operational departments, linking clinical practice, processes, technology, and information to enhance patient care. Responsibilities include coordinating the change management process, revising workflows, and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems. The practice is based on the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field (for Informatics Clinician).
Master's degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor's degree in healthcare related-field with a Master's degree (for Informatics Clinical Specialist).
Graduate of a baccalaureate Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)accredited nursing program (for Informatics Nurse).
If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, at least one year of RN experience (within the last five years) in an applicable care setting is required (for Informatics Nurse).
Master's degree in Nursing, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in healthcare-related field (for Informatics Nurse Specialist).
Minimum of three years clinical experience in healthcare (required for Specialist, preferred for Clinician and Nurse).
Evidence of advanced knowledge and competence in Informatics (for Specialist) or Nursing Informatics (for Nurse Specialist).
Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization.
Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications.
Experience in training or teaching others.
Strong project leadership, organizational and planning skills (for Clinician and Nurse).
Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral).
Epic certified or proficiency required within six months of hire date.
Must maintain relevant certification and/or licensure as related to qualifying education at time of hire, if applicable.
Current RN licensure in applicable state (for Nurse and Nurse Specialist).
Minimum of 2 years of clinical informatics experience (external candidates).
Must be a local resident within the greater Phoenix area.
Internal candidates must have 2 years of work experience with Mayo Clinic.

Nice To Haves

Project management experience (preferred for Clinical Specialist and Nurse Specialist).
National certification in CPHIMS – Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management Systems within two years of hire date or Certified Healthcare Technology Associate (AHIMA) within one year of hire date is highly recommended (for Clinical Specialist).
ANCC National certification in Nursing informatics is highly recommended within two years of hire date (for Nurse Specialist).
