About The Position

Black River Health has an immediate opening for a Clinical Informatics RN to join our Information Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse who enjoys technology, problem-solving, and improving the way healthcare is delivered. As a Clinical Informatics RN, you’ll serve as the bridge between clinical care and technology, using your nursing expertise to help design, implement, improve, and support clinical information systems. You’ll work alongside clinical teams, IT professionals, providers, and leadership to ensure technology supports safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required
• Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin
• 3 years of experience in a clinical setting required
• 2 years of experience with clinical information systems required
• Strong computer, communication, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to troubleshoot applications and communicate effectively in English.
• Working knowledge of nursing/provider workflows, regulatory requirements, and quality reporting, with the ability to apply a nursing perspective to interpret information and support clinical processes.

Nice To Haves

• 5 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the project sponsor, project leader, and analyst throughout clinical system implementations.
• Ensures clinical needs are evaluated and validated when implementation plans are developed by collecting input from end users.
• Is proficient in the operations of the suite of clinical applications as new systems are installed and existing systems are upgraded.
• Assess the implications on clinical operations and processes of patient care delivery when assisting in the resolution of departmental issues.
• Participates in the development and testing of the application functions.
• Trains clinical staff (including providers) in the proper use of clinical applications.
