This hybrid position requires the candidate to be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus and be a local resident within the greater Phoenix area. The role involves delivering informatics solutions to support clinical practice from planning through adoption, acting as a bridge between clinical and operational departments to enhance patient care, and coordinating change management for automated system implementation. The practice is based on the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field.
Minimum of three years clinical experience in healthcare.
Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization.
Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications.
Experience in training or teaching others.
Epic certified or proficiency required within six months of hire date.
Must maintain relevant certification and/or licensure as related to qualifying education at time of hire, if applicable.
Master's degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor's degree in healthcare related-field with a Master's degree (for Informatics Clinical Specialist).
Evidence of advanced knowledge and competence in Informatics (for Informatics Clinical Specialist).
Ability to apply an evidence base practice to informatics (for Informatics Clinical Specialist).
Project management experience preferred (for Informatics Clinical Specialist).
National certification in CPHIMS – Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management Systems within two years of hire date or Certified Healthcare Technology Associate (AHIMA) within one year of hire date is highly recommended (for Informatics Clinical Specialist).
Graduate of a baccalaureate Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)accredited nursing program (for Informatics Nurse).
If graduated from a nursing program that was not accredited by ACEN or CCNE, at least one year of RN experience (within the last five years) in an applicable care setting is required (for Informatics Nurse).
Current RN licensure in applicable state (for Informatics Nurse and Informatics Nurse Specialist).
Master's degree in Nursing, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in healthcare-related field (for Informatics Nurse Specialist).
Evidence of advanced knowledge and competence in Nursing Informatics (for Informatics Nurse Specialist).
Ability to apply an evidence base to nursing informatics (for Informatics Nurse Specialist).

Responsibilities

Deliver informatics solutions that support the practice from planning through full adoption.
Work on the design and use of informatics solutions that support the vision and mission of Mayo Clinic.
Serve as a bridge between all clinical and operational departments linking clinical practice, processes, technology and information to enhance patient care across all Mayo locations.
Coordinate the change management process including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems.
Provide leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology that impacts clinical nursing information management from planning through evaluation.
Serve as a bridge between the Department of Nursing and other institutional groups, linking clinical practice, technology, and information management to enhance patient care.
