About The Position

The Daily Mail is seeking its first dedicated Influencer Correspondent, a reporter to cover the rapidly growing beat of influencer culture. This role involves breaking news and writing features about the influencer and creator economy, translating complex trends for a global audience. The correspondent will identify stories through keen observation of social media and digital platforms, leveraging a network of sources to secure exclusive content. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of online culture, strong journalistic instincts, and excellent interviewing and feature writing skills.

Requirements

Proven experience as a feature writer and/or reporter, ideally covering culture, entertainment, or digital media.
Exceptional interviewing skills and a track record of landing exclusive access.
An established or demonstrably buildable network of sources in the creator economy.
Deep, active knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
The instinct to find a story in a post, a comment, or even in a silence.
Journalist's instincts and a creator's fluency.
Ability to draw even the most uninitiated reader into the world of influencers.

Responsibilities

Break news and write features across the full influencer and creator economy.
Spot stories by analyzing social media posts, comments, and brand photos.
Cultivate a deep network of sources including agents, managers, platform insiders, and creators.
Pitch stories daily to senior editors.
Work with senior editors to develop story ideas into thoughtful and informative features.
Translate the world of influencers for a broad audience.
