The Infectious Disease Physician will provide diagnosis and treatment of adult patients presenting with infectious diseases. This includes conditions such as diseases resistant to treatment, illness after travel, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, Lyme disease, and Hepatitis B and C. The role involves providing treatment in an outpatient clinical setting and offering consultation services in an inpatient setting or for emergent needs. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, reviewing patient medical data, ordering diagnostic imaging and labs, and documenting observations and assessments. The physician will collaborate with health team members and other specialties to ensure positive patient care outcomes. Additionally, the role requires computer proficiency for accessing and inputting patient data into the computerized patient record system (CPRS) and providing direct clinical supervision of advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and other staff as appropriate. The physician will also cooperate with and participate in medical duties related to quality of care, peer review, and performance improvement activities, and attend assigned meetings. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor or Chief of Staff.
