Infectious Disease Physician
About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for an Infectious Disease Physician at Stafford Hospital and Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA. The role involves providing inpatient care, performing new inpatient consultations for infectious disease cases, and managing infectious disease cases including diagnostic and treatment planning. The physician will also be responsible for taking call for new inpatient consults after hours. There are no outpatient clinic responsibilities, with a focus solely on inpatient care. The coverage period is ASAP – Ongoing, with a shift schedule of Mon – Fri, 8a – 5p, and on-call coverage from Mon – Fri, 5p – 8a. The facility uses the Epic EMR system.
Requirements
- Board Eligible required
- Universal License (IMLC)
- BLS certification
- Microscopic specimen evaluation
- Management of vascular access devices/central venous catheters
- Familiarity with intravenous medications
- Central line placement
- Intrathecal administration of anti-infective agents
