Infectious Disease Physician
About The Position
Geisinger is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to join its collaborative team at Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, Pennsylvania. GCMC is a 293-bed acute care hospital serving Lackawanna County and communities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, with broad specialty support and a Level II trauma center. The position does not allow for J-1 waiver sponsorship. The physician will diagnose and manage a broad range of infectious diseases; provide evidence-based antimicrobial treatment and management; and evaluate patients with complex infections, unexplained fevers, and other infectious disease conditions. The role includes collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team and participation in Geisinger’s educational and quality improvement mission. Opportunities to work with residents and medical students are available. The position requires an MD or DO, completion of an Infectious Disease fellowship, Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Infectious Disease, and a Pennsylvania medical license. Requirements
- MD or DO.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease.
- Completion of an Infectious Disease fellowship.
- Commitment to excellent patient care and safety.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
