About The Position
The Infection Control Registered Nurse delivers quality care within the scope of practice established by the state nurse practice act. The role follows applicable practice acts and regulations, delegates and supervises nursing activities performed by qualified nursing personnel within their scope of practice, and manages the Infection Control Program. The nurse maintains national infection-control standards across facilities and supports a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
- Active CPR certification.
- Remain knowledgeable about state laws and regulations governing practice.
- Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies as assigned to demonstrate aptitude for the role.
- Bachelor's-prepared nurse or higher with experience in healthcare infection control.
- Possess, or obtain within six months of hire, infection-control certification from a nationally recognized organization such as APIC or SHEA.
