About The Position

The Infection Control Nurse participates in the UHS Hospitals Infection Prevention and Control program, including the prevention, surveillance, and control of infections. The role assists hospital departments in carrying out their responsibilities in infection prevention and patient safety. The position is in Infection Control, UHS Hospitals, with a day shift and 32 regularly scheduled hours per week.

Requirements

• Associate’s in Applied Science in Nursing and five years of clinical experience or Infection Prevention experience.
• New York State Registered Nurse license or eligibility.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and three years of clinical experience or Infection Prevention experience.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC).

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Infection Prevention and Control program, including infection prevention, surveillance, and control.
• Assist hospital departments in executing responsibilities related to infection prevention and patient safety.
