About The Position

Discovery Kidzone is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher to join our team in Helena. You'll work alongside a Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where infants can explore, learn, and reach important developmental milestones. No previous childcare experience required! If you're passionate about working with children, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Requirements

At least 16 years old
Caring, patient, and dependable
Interested in infant development and early childhood education
Positive and comfortable working as part of a team
Organized and attentive to children's needs
A strong communicator
Willing to learn and complete required Montana licensing training
CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

Previous childcare experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily care and supervision of infants and toddlers
Build positive and caring relationships with children
Engage children through music, books, sensory activities, movement, and play
Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
Help maintain consistent routines for feeding, naps, and classroom activities
Prepare bottles and follow proper feeding, food storage, and sanitation procedures
Change diapers and support age-appropriate toileting routines
Closely supervise children and help maintain a safe classroom
Document daily activities and communicate updates with families through the center's communication app
Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide quality care and learning experiences
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
