Requirements

  • At least 1 year of industrial refrigeration experience or trade school equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and understand Equipment and System P&ID's.
  • Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team.
  • Must participate in Plant HazMat team.
  • Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
  • Working knowledge of electrical testing equipment and basic hand and power tools.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn and apply Tyson SAP-PM Plant Maintenance system.
  • Must be able to communicate with all team members.
  • Possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
  • Approximately one to two weeks of travel per year is possible for training.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration and equipment room experience in a food plant preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Industrial Safety procedures is preferred.
  • RETA and IIAR Ammonia Refrigeration training is preferred.
  • RETA I Certification and Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance to include hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC's, Motor Controls, and shop equipment operations desired.
  • Experience in the Air Conditioning/Refrigeration industry is a plus.
  • Industrial maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Air Conditioning / Refrigeration systems operation and maintenance is a plus.
  • Formal training from an Air-conditioning / Refrigeration Technical School is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems and HCFC systems.
  • Manage hot water systems, air compressors, and waste treatment operations.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations of all assigned systems.
  • Comply with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) standards.
  • Work effectively within a team environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members, management, operations personnel, and contractors.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Participate in training and skill development relevant to assigned responsibilities.
  • Read and understand Equipment and System P&ID's.
