About The Position

Carrier is looking for a 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Mechanic for their Indianapolis furnace plant. This role involves taking full ownership of the machinery and equipment that keeps the plant running. It is a unionized site offering stability, competitive pay, and benefits. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and takes pride in maintaining peak facility performance. Responsibilities include the reliability of systems, modifying, fabricating, setting up, and adjusting a wide variety of mechanical systems under general supervision. The role requires individuals with strong character, a sense of urgency, flexibility, and adaptability to switch tasks as priorities change to minimize equipment downtime. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED AND successfully complete (70% or higher) the applicable Industrial Assessment Test OR Hold a current Journeyman's Card OR Successfully completed a Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program for machine repair
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
  • Willing and able to complete the Carrier safety programs successfully
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the machines and equipment in efficient operating conditions
  • Inspect machines and perform preventive maintenance
  • Dismantle, move and repair industrial machinery and equipment
  • Conduct modification, fabrication, and installation of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning industrial machinery and equipment
  • Follow site safety rules and processes i.e., in the associate handbook, cardinal rule cards, job specific standard work and relevant EHS training documents
