About The Position

Quality Process Services (QPS) is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician for a rotational position in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment supporting an industrial oil and gas operation.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment schematics.
• Ability to work independently in a field-service environment.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Ability to work a 14-day-on/14-day-off rotation in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial, industrial, or oilfield HVAC experience is preferred.
• Experience with refrigeration systems is strongly preferred.
• EPA Section 608 or EPA Universal certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, temperature-control, and refrigeration-related equipment problems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
• Repair or replace motors, compressors, thermostats, valves, controls, fans, belts, and other HVAC components.
• Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components, wiring, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
• Perform system startups, testing, and operational checks following maintenance or repairs.
• Respond to equipment failures and emergency service requests as needed.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
• Document inspections, completed repairs, equipment conditions, and recommended maintenance.
• Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, and the provided company vehicle.
• Follow all QPS and customer safety policies and procedures.
• Work independently while communicating effectively with customer representatives and QPS management.
