About The Position

TJX Companies is seeking an Industrial Engineering Manager to collaboratively develop, design, analyze, and execute innovative and strategic solutions to improve work method efficiency and workforce management in stores. This role involves redesigning floor layouts, implementing technology innovations, recommending material handling equipment, improving work methods, and conducting scheduling and staffing analysis using Six Sigma practices. The manager will stay abreast of market trends, scan the competitive environment, develop connections across the organization, and analyze supply chain networks for optimization. This role may involve managing self or a team and developing business and engineering solutions to minimize cycle time, eliminate redundancy, and assess task placement. The position also involves designing and implementing solutions for various store operation areas, including backrooms, frontends, restrooms, and office layouts, focusing on continuous improvement, safety, material handling, labor standards, and labor allocation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Finance or Business Administration
  • 2-4 years Industrial Engineering, Finance, Business or related experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound understanding of business or operational processes and procedures.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel
  • Ability to travel (40%)

Nice To Haves

  • Distribution Center/retail store experience a plus.
  • 6 Sigma and/or continuous improvement certification

Responsibilities

  • Manages self or a team.
  • Develops, reviews, and recommends business and engineering solutions to minimize cycle time, eliminate redundant activities, and assess appropriate place to perform floor ready tasks.
  • Designs, analyzes, develops, and implements solutions for HGHS Store Operations in non-selling and selling space.
  • Focuses on continuous improvement in overall store process, safety, material handling, best methods, motion economy, engineering labor standards, efficient scheduling and staffing, and labor allocation/optimization.
  • Supports ROI analysis.
  • Undertakes special projects and other assigned tasks.
