About The Position

The Industrial Engineering Co-op is an onsite, full-time co-op in Bellevue, Iowa, running from January through August 2027. Students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to participate fully in this working mentorship opportunity. Co-ops work with production-floor employees—including operators, inspectors, quality personnel, and test technicians—to address daily manufacturing issues and pursue longer-term projects that eliminate recurring problems. They collaborate with Industrial Engineers and other engineering functions and gain experience across manufacturing engineering activities. The role includes designing production tooling using additive manufacturing, analyzing manufacturing layouts and workflows, supporting the testing and troubleshooting of electronic and electromechanical products, and helping plan resource allocation. Co-ops also conduct studies involving cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory control, and production records. The position offers learning opportunities in manufacturing issue resolution, operations planning, manufacturing documentation, standard work, and product routings.
