About The Position

Infosys Engineering focuses on product-centric value delivery through innovative engineering solutions, data-first engineering, and value-stream management. The team uses AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics to improve delivery processes, support continuous improvement, and accelerate time to market. In the assigned role of Engineering Consultant 2, the Industrial Engineer elicits business and technical requirements and translates them into actionable specifications. The role participates in design meetings and iterative design cycles, develops design concepts and models, refines prototypes, and validates solutions against specifications and criteria, including through simulations. It also supports technical integration, resolves interoperability issues, and develops technical documentation and knowledge-sharing activities. The position applies industrial engineering methods to production systems, including capacity analysis, equipment utilization, line balancing, discrete event simulation, workflow and layout design, cost and inventory control, production records, time standards, and lean manufacturing. The role may require relocation and/or travel to the work or project location. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive specialty experience in lieu of each year of education.
  • Analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization, and line balancing.
  • Ability to use discrete event simulation to validate production-system performance measures, including cycle time, WIP, bottlenecks, throughput, capacity, resource utilization, and production-rate changes.
  • Ability to analyze and design sequences of operations, workflows, facility layouts, and equipment layouts to improve efficiency and product flow.
  • Ability to conduct studies concerning cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Ability to develop time standards and standard work for operations and processes.
  • Ability to define improvement projects using Just-In-Time and Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and propose effective solutions using engineering tools and methodologies.
  • Innovative mindset, commitment to continuous improvement, and willingness to share knowledge.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship.
