About The Position

Stantec’s Buildings Civic | Industrial Sector Group provides services throughout the project life cycle, from pre-project planning and engineering analysis through detailed design and construction documents for capital investment projects. The group brings together architecture, industrial, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and project management disciplines across the United States and Canada to develop integrated solutions for complex industrial challenges. Clients include organizations in transit, municipal services, national defense, manufacturing, and food and beverage. Project types include transit and fleet facilities, public works and utility campuses, federal facilities, aircraft hangars, food processing facilities, warehouses and distribution centers, manufacturing and assembly facilities, and other light industrial projects. The Industrial Engineer applies efficient solutions to complex challenges, with close guidance and direction from a Senior Industrial Architect. The work primarily involves functional planning, workflow and facility optimization, and facility layout. The role collaborates with clients, operators, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, coordinated design solutions. The position involves translating client needs into project actions, developing process-flow diagrams and functional programs, compiling equipment information, and creating 3D models of industrial shops and storage equipment. The engineer also contributes to technical approaches, project planning and documentation, client workshops and presentations, interdisciplinary coordination, proposals, and teammate development. Stantec describes its work as team-oriented, with an emphasis on sharing information, effective communication, and high-priority client service.
