As Lead Industrial Designer, you will work closely with company leadership and the product design team to develop Maven’s visual brand language. You will have significant ownership of the cosmetic appearance, color, material, and finish (CMF), and UI/UX features of Maven products. The role covers the industrial design process from early concepts through detailed design, prototyping, and manufacturing, while collaborating with manufacturers and the team to realize and maintain product appearance standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional industrial design experience in consumer products, automotive, or industrial products industries.
• A strong portfolio of design work on realized products, demonstrating refined visual sensibility and a thoughtful balance between form and function.
• Demonstrated ability to own product design from early concept through high-volume production.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 2D and 3D design software.

Nice To Haves

• At least 10 years of industrial design experience in consumer products, automotive, or industrial products industries.
• Industrial design experience in robotics.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs, design insights, and technical requirements into elegant, intuitive industrial design solutions.
• Drive the industrial design process from early concept exploration through detailed design, prototyping, and manufacturing.
• Brainstorm and create cohesive visual brand language options for Maven product lines.
• Work with the product design team to refine implementation details needed to achieve the desired appearance.
• Develop simple and efficient user interface concepts for industrial settings.
• Define color, material, and finish (CMF) requirements.
• Work with manufacturers to produce and maintain cosmetic appearance standards.
• Evaluate cosmetic samples and prototypes with the team against design intent.
• Support design reviews by preparing visual references, annotated models, and finish sample boards.
