About The Position
The custodial staff at Merrell Bros., Inc. helps improve and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in the mechanical shop. The role involves cleaning, maintenance, and organization, along with flexibility to address issues as they arise. Compensation is $16.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment.
- Experience driving a fork truck.
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform consistent heavy lifting.
- Flexibility and willingness to address issues as they arise.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
- Cleaning, maintenance, and organizational experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare spaces for the next day by removing trash, cleaning equipment and tools, and cleaning or dusting surfaces.
- Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, and operate an industrial floor scrubber.
- Pressure wash bays.
- Fuel fleet vehicles.
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers, and restock disposables such as soap.
- Wipe mirrors and windows.
- Maintain the outer premises by cleaning entrances and emptying trash receptacles.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs, such as fixing door handles and minor leaks.
- Report major damages to management.
- Assist with other tasks to improve overall efficiency.
