About The Position

Merrell Bros., Inc. is hiring a full-time Industrial Custodian at its Corporate Headquarters in Kokomo, Indiana. The custodial staff helps maintain a safe and healthy work environment in the mechanical shop. The role involves cleaning, organizing, and maintaining indoor and outdoor areas, using industrial cleaning equipment, and performing minor repairs. Flexibility and willingness to address issues as they arise are important. The position is on the day shift, with negligible travel, and pays $16.00–$20.00 per hour based on experience.

Requirements

Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment.
Experience driving a fork truck.
Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform consistent heavy lifting.
Flexibility and willingness to take care of issues as they arise.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
Cleaning, maintenance, and organizational experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare spaces for the next day by removing trash, cleaning equipment and tools, and cleaning or dusting surfaces.
Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, and use an industrial floor scrubber.
Pressure wash bays.
Fuel fleet vehicles.
Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers, and restock disposables such as soap.
Wipe mirrors and windows.
Maintain the outer premises by cleaning entrances and emptying trash receptacles.
Perform maintenance and minor repairs, such as fixing door handles and minor leaks.
Report major damages to management.
Assist with other tasks to improve overall efficiency.
