Requirements

  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in claims management, disability claims, or a related field.
  • Advanced level of English and French proficiency, both written and spoken, as the role requires the analysis of unilingual English claims files and communication with English-speaking clients, healthcare providers, and business partners on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting in-depth analyses of disability claims by gathering, assessing, and interpreting relevant medical, vocational, financial, and contractual information.
  • Determining eligibility for benefits by applying contractual provisions, internal guidelines, and medical and functional assessment principles.
  • Managing complex or high-impact claims by collaborating with internal stakeholders, including medical consultants, managers, and specialized teams.
  • Preparing clear and professional written communications, including claim approval and denial decisions, while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining regular communication with policyholders and their representatives to answer questions, provide updates, and explain claim decisions.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by keeping your knowledge current and sharing expertise with team members.
