Requirements

Knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Planning, negotiations, and contract management experience.
Good technical knowledge of Purchasing and ERP systems.
Able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations well.
Manage and maintain required documentation.
Develop strong supplier relationships.
Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
Bachelor’s degree.
3--5 years professional experience.
1-3 years of purchasing experience.
English fluent, and other language is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Requires a person who is self-motivated.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Oracle software experience.
Willingness to travel up to 20% of your time.
Commodity specific experience and knowledge. Labor or IT software a plus.
Automotive industry experience.

Responsibilities

Purchase goods, materials, and services that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
Perform cost analysis on goods purchased through should cost, competitive bid, and/or cost breakdown analysis.
Generate purchase orders that comply with company requirements.
Communicate and work to mitigate any supply problems which may impact our business operations.
Act as the interface between suppliers and other departments at Gentex.
Identify risks and drive solutions to mitigate risks and escalate when needed.
Monitor market trends and drive favorable actions for Gentex.
Develop and implement cost reductions to ensure favorable Purchase Price Variance (PPV) targets are achieved.
Manage supplier relationships and insure two-way professional relationships exist.
Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback.
Identify and assess new suppliers that can meet the cost, quality, and delivery expectations for Gentex.
Other duties as assigned.
