About The Position

Valto, Inc. is seeking an Indirect Buyer to lead indirect sourcing activities for goods and services at its Joliet production site. The role supports cost efficiency and productivity by finding low-cost sourcing opportunities, ensuring contract compliance, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining appropriate inventory of non-production materials. The Buyer also provides backup support to Indirect Buyers at other sites as needed.

Requirements

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or another operations or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to analyze costs and drive savings opportunities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Ability to work in a matrixed environment.

Nice To Haves

College degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
Capital/MRO procurement experience.

Responsibilities

Identify and source suppliers for indirect goods and services for the Joliet production site.
Facilitate contract and agreement negotiations to secure favorable terms and total cost of ownership.
Issue and track purchase orders for indirect materials and services.
Coordinate with site teams to ensure accurate, cost-effective, and timely fulfillment.
Partner with other production sites to aggregate purchases and reduce total cost of ownership through leveraged buying arrangements.
Ensure compliance with budgets and forecast future site purchasing needs.
Measure and communicate opportunities and savings internally and externally.
Measure supplier performance and internal participation in initiatives.
Track site spending and report cost savings and supplier performance using standardized KPIs.
Resolve issues involving indirect product or service quality, delivery, or payment.
Communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Provide backup support to Indirect Buyers at other locations as needed.
