About The Position

The Site MRO/Indirect Buyer Professional manages plant indirect purchasing in accordance with E&L BG governance, OPmobility purchasing policy, and established processes. The role owns the plant supply base, assesses supplier performance and risk, benchmarks costs and purchasing conditions across E&L BG plants, and identifies opportunities to improve costs and leverage purchasing synergies. The buyer manages supplier relationships, purchasing requests, RFQs, negotiations, sourcing recommendations, contracts, ordering, and order-to-pay improvements. The role tracks and reports MRO performance and savings through standard KPIs and monthly reporting.

Requirements

Technical or business background with a specialty in purchasing.
At least 3 years of experience in a purchasing department in an industrial and international environment.
Knowledge of local, regional, and global markets.
Knowledge of supply base management, including supplier selection, supplier ranking, supplier development, and commodity strategy.
Knowledge of sourcing processes.
Knowledge of order-to-pay processes.
Knowledge of technical negotiations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in industrial indirect purchasing, including maintenance, repair, industrial consumables and services, CAPEX, and lost packaging.

Responsibilities

Manage purchasing activities in line with E&L BG governance rules, purchasing policy, and established processes.
Own the plant supply base and evaluate it annually through a vendor rating process.
Manage supplier risk with Finance, including suppliers’ financial health and penetration rate.
Benchmark MRO costs and purchasing conditions against other E&L BG plants and identify improvement opportunities.
Develop synergies and purchasing conditions with other buyers to leverage volumes and optimize costs.
Manage supplier relationships according to OPmobility purchasing policy and resolve supplier issues.
Track and report MRO performance through standard KPIs; commit to savings and report monthly on savings achieved in accordance with applicable processes and rules.
Lead supplier negotiations, ensure fair competition, and seek competition from at least three suppliers to obtain the best technical solution and lowest landed cost.
Manage plant purchasing requests and initiate RFQ processes.
Prepare sourcing recommendations and present them in sourcing.
Manage the ordering process after sourcing approval, in compliance with applicable laws, legal constraints, obligations, and OPmobility policy.
Manage plant contracts and implement global contracts managed by the lead buyer at the plant.
Optimize the order-to-pay process by proposing solutions for recurring purchases.
