About The Position
Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Buyer responsible for the Value Stream, including preparing and processing requisitions and placing purchase orders for commodities and supplies needed to manufacture products. The role aligns with the Production Planner to ensure materials are available to support the production plan. It is an on-site position in Indianapolis, Indiana, on the Supply Chain team, and reports to the Senior Supply Chain Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, with the ability to learn job-specific programs.
Nice To Haves
- Zero to two years of experience.
- Experience in a tactical or strategic procurement role supporting manufacturing or project management.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers.
- Oracle experience.
Responsibilities
- Place new purchase orders and follow up on existing purchase orders, executing tactical purchasing processes.
- Negotiate favorable pricing and establish contract terms with suppliers.
- Drive ongoing supplier optimization to achieve organizational metrics.
- Manage the supply base, including supplier negotiations, on-time delivery, and forecasting.
- Identify and facilitate continuous improvement activities to reduce indirect spend.
- Collaborate with and support production planning and the Value Stream to ensure timely delivery to customers.
