Independent Contractor - Nationwide Freight
About The Position
VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is seeking Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators for nationwide freight under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers a large number of loads, dispatchers with more than four years of experience and broker contacts, and rates that can be negotiated with dispatchers. Loads are personalized according to owner-operators’ preferences. Advertised Sprinter rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated workdays are Monday through Friday. Applicants must own a Sprinter or Cargo Van and meet the stated eligibility, age, language, driver-registration, vehicle, and experience requirements. The company does not hire company drivers. The posting states a minimum average monthly salary of $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials.
Requirements
- Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
- Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
- You and your drivers must be at least 21 years old.
- You and your drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English; Russian speakers are also hired.
- All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.
- Sprinter vehicles must be no older than 2016.
- Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE, and all decals must be removed.
- Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road if making changes to it.
- Provide the vehicle’s registration and insurance.
- Have at least six months of driving experience.
