Independent Contractor - Sprinter/Cargo Van Owner Operator
About The Position
VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators may negotiate rates with dispatchers and receive personalized load offers based on their preferences. The company advertises a large number of loads and dispatchers with more than four years of experience and broker contacts. Advertised rates for Sprinters are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas and $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas. Sprinter rates for Canada are $1.25–$1.55 per mile. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated workdays are Monday through Friday. Minimum average monthly earnings are stated as $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and whether the driver has Hazmat certification and TSA/TWIC credentials.
Requirements
- Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
- Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
- The owner-operator and drivers must be at least 21 years old.
- The owner-operator and drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English; Russian speakers are also hired.
- Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
- Sprinter vehicles must be no older than model year 2016.
- Vehicles must have at least four straps and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Remove all decals from the vehicle.
- Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
- All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.
- Enter into a written independent contractor agreement as an owner-operator; company-driver applications are not accepted.

Responsibilities
- Provide and operate an eligible Sprinter or Cargo Van as an owner-operator.
- Complete company approval, acceptance, and registration before accepting loads from VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER.
- Communicate load preferences to dispatchers and notify the company before putting a modified vehicle on the road.
- Send the vehicle's registration and insurance documents.
