About The Position

Graceland Portable Buildings is seeking an Independent Contractor Driver to transport and set portable buildings. This is a contract (1099) role where you provide your own truck/equipment and insurance and are not a Graceland employee, but a partner. The role involves transporting, delivering, setting up, and anchoring portable buildings at customer sites safely and on schedule. It also includes leveling and positioning buildings with care and accuracy, communicating with dispatch and customers regarding ETAs and delivery status, and using a phone/tablet for dispatch details and paperwork. The driver is responsible for maintaining their truck/trailer/equipment in safe working condition and adhering to all DOT/FMCSA requirements and safe work practices, while providing professional and courteous service.

Requirements

• Ability to solve problems on-site and adapt to changing conditions.
• Comfort using a smartphone/tablet for dispatch and paperwork.
• Valid Class A CDL and acceptable driving record.
• Own truck/trailer/equipment suitable for transporting and setting portable buildings.
• Maintain required commercial auto liability insurance (and any other coverage required by contract) and provide proof upon request.
• Ability to meet Graceland safety requirements (may include background screening/drug testing as permitted by law).
• Ability to work regionally/out of town as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport, deliver, set up, and, when applicable, anchor portable buildings at customer sites safely and on the scheduled delivery date.
• Level and position buildings on-site with care and accuracy in a timely manner.
• Communicate with dispatch/customers on ETAs, site access, and delivery status.
• Use phone/tablet to receive dispatch details and submit required paperwork/photos.
• Maintain contractor-owned truck/trailer/equipment in safe working condition.
• Follow all applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements and safe work practices.
• Provide professional, courteous service that reflects well on Graceland.
