Requirements

• Masters in Special Education or Masters in Elementary Education or Masters in Curriculum and Instruction
• Valid state teacher special education and elementary education certification
• Exceptional expertise to include a minimum of 2 items
• Minimum of 3 years teaching students with disabilities grades K-12 or teaching in an inclusive general education setting for grades K-8

Nice To Haves

• Doctorate in Special Education or Doctorate in Elementary Education or Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or Doctorate in Learning and Teaching or Doctorate in Educational Psychology or Doctorate in Psychology
• Valid state teacher full special education and elementary education certification

Responsibilities

• Equipping students with the required skill set
• Facilitating classroom discussions
• Assessing student performance
• Preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession
• Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom
• Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes
• Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University
