Online / Remote - One-to-One Inclusive Education Instructor
About The Position
Instructors work one-to-one with school-aged (Kindergarten to grade 12) learners, delivering individualized and comprehensive learning support that is neuroaffirming, strengths-based, and evidence-based. The organization, Learn. Develop. Succeed., is a growing education nonprofit supporting children, youth, and adults with learning and other brain-based differences. They aim to transform individualized instruction delivery through innovative programming and an AI initiative, with the potential to reach a large number of learners across Canada. Requirements
- Experience working with school-aged children with diagnosed or suspected learning differences
- Experience in strengths-based, neuroaffirming learning environments and/or a demonstrated eagerness and ability to quickly adapt to this type of environment
- Experience using structured, systematic, and explicit instructional approaches
- Experience teaching literacy concepts using a structured literacy/Science of Reading approach
- Experience teaching math focused on building conceptual understanding
- Experience supporting executive functioning, sensory processing, or social-emotional learning
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with or without the use of assistive technology
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Demonstrated commitment to our charitable mission
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to provide a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
- Eligibility to work in Canada
Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one instruction live online
- Create and maintain a learning environment that is neuroaffirming, strengths-based, and enjoyable for all learners
- Identify learner strengths and challenges through informal and formal assessment
- Draw from multiple resources and curricula, develop and implement year-long learning plans and daily lesson plans for your assigned learners that are individualized, neuroaffirming, strength-based, evidence-based, technology-enhanced and linked to measurable learning goals
- Provide formal and informal written progress reports, with or without the use of assistive technology
