About The Position

As an Inbound Transportation Manager, you will manage a team of transportation professionals in facilitating freight shipments while maximizing margin and providing signature service. The Manager will have a primary focus on revenue growth opportunities, strategic planning and projects, as well as team development to increase efficiency and service, margin, and vendor/carrier relationships.

Requirements

• Knowledge of transportation industry, wholesale grocery operations, and procurement.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• 5-7 years of related experience in Transportation, Warehouse Operations, and Supply Chain.
• Bachelor's Degree - Industrial Engineering, Bachelor's Degree - Logistics Management, or Bachelor's Degree - Operations & Supply Chain Management.

Responsibilities

• Own P&L performance for areas of responsibility, including forecasting weekly performance, identifying actions to address shortfalls, and understanding and explaining variances.
• Manage and facilitate revenue growth activity through efforts of customer pickup review/negotiations and tariff reviews.
• Develop short and long term strategies and other business opportunities to meet current and future years' business objectives.
• Coach and develop team members on overall transportation industry knowledge, financial objectives, and carrier management to make well informed business and financial decisions.
• Align team member goals with the strategic vision of the organization.
• Develop and grow strategic carrier relationships to continuously maximize capacity, rate, and service; this includes holding regular business reviews, communicating expectations, and holding each other accountable.
• Oversee and execute carrier sourcing efforts to maximize the resources needed to support expected volume, promoting net income growth and driving service objectives; as well as leading sourcing efforts for future growth activity.
