About The Position
The In-School Suspension Technician assists school staff with instructional programs and activities and supports students’ needs. The position monitors the in-school suspension program, supervises students during the school day, and helps them complete prepared instructional and guidance programs. This is a full-time, ten-month position at Patterson Mill Middle/High School.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Associate of Arts degree or 60 college credits.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with students, parents, and school staff.
Responsibilities
- Collect assignments from teachers for students assigned to in-school suspension.
- Monitor the in-school suspension program, including the daily schedule for all subjects.
- Supervise students assigned to the program to ensure they remain on task throughout the school day.
- Assist students in completing prepared programs, including lessons on study skills and guidance components related to positive behavior and career education.
- Meet with parents of students assigned to in-school suspension to review work completed during the program.
- Assist teachers with students who have behavior problems.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
