About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Catholic Middle/High School Latin teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom at its center in Lapeer, Michigan. The position involves teaching for up to four afternoon hours per week. The academy is a national classical homeschool organization in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays.

Curriculum, lesson plans, and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors receive training in instruction and classroom management according to Regina Caeli Academy standards. Teachers must be willing to prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment. The position is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. The stated work hours are Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m.–4:15 p.m.

Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and be living the faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. All staff complete training and a background check; employees must have a clear background check. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Clear background check.
• Willingness to complete required training and prepare for classes at home.
• Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching one's own children, or teaching in a classical or private school.
• Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or an equivalent.
