About The Position

The In-Room Dining Server is responsible for setting up and delivering orders to rooms within approximately 20-30 minutes. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of menus, dish and glassware service, and the ability to apply this knowledge in serving guests. The server must follow proper tray setup procedures, ensuring all necessary items such as silverware, napkins, condiments, and beverages are included, along with any special requests. A thorough knowledge of service standards for beer, liquor, and wine, along with compliance with alcohol awareness procedures and applicable laws, is essential. The server will also be responsible for promptly returning checks and payments to the cashier and following up with guests to ensure satisfaction. Anticipating guest needs, responding promptly, and maintaining positive guest relations are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Set up orders and deliver to rooms within approximately 20-30 minutes.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of menus, dish and glassware service, and utilize that knowledge in the service of guests as needed.
  • Follow proper tray set up for all orders, including silverware, napkins, appropriate condiments, beverages, any special requests, etc. Check complete food order to ensure all have been set on tray for delivery.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of service standards for beer, liquor and wine, complying with alcohol awareness procedures and complying with all applicable laws.
  • Promptly return check and payment to cashier; call back to guest after 5-10 minutes to see if meal is satisfactory.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, maintaining positive guest relations at all times.
