About The Position

The Westin Tempe is looking for a PT - PM - In Room Dining Food Server to join their team. This role involves servicing guests through the restaurant and around the hotel, with a focus on delivering exceptional service. The In Room Dining Food Server is responsible for setting up, taking orders, delivering, and retrieving all food and beverage orders to guests' rooms, meeting spaces, offices, and hospitality suites, ensuring quality service and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous Serving experience required.
  • Previous cash handling / customer service experience required.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and speak English required.
  • Ability to obtain Maricopa Health Card (Food Handlers Card) required.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Can communicate well with guests.
  • Willingness to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a cart weighing a maximum of 100 lbs., at a continuous schedule.
  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up, order taking, delivering, and retrieving all food and beverage orders to guests' rooms, meeting space, offices, and hospitality suites.
  • Ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and the achievement of company standards.
  • Taking part in servicing guests through the restaurant and around the hotel.
  • Being part of a team of helpful people who are passionate about delivering exceptional service.
  • Handling tasks in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner.
  • Adhering to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
  • Meeting and striving to exceed hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Being adaptable to change in the work area and in hotel procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones.
  • Solving routine problems that occur on the job and asking for help whenever unsure how to do something.
