About The Position

Visiting Angels of Richardson is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to support elderly and home-care clients in the local area, including Plano, Richardson, Garland, Wylie, Rockwall, Mesquite, Forney, and other communities. The role helps clients remain or recover at home with dignity through companionship and assistance with everyday activities. Client visits vary, and aides must be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The position is described as pet friendly, with day, morning, afternoon, weekend, and short-shift options. Full-time, part-time, and PRN schedules are listed, with shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of professional caregiving experience.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, traveling to doctor visits, and taking walks.
Act quickly in medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
