About The Position

Visiting Angels’ Corsicana office is seeking In Home Personal Aides to support seniors and others in need in Athens and surrounding communities. The role provides compassionate, respectful care and companionship, helping clients with daily activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility, personal care, and transportation. Caregivers may also receive advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. The position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate approach.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Background in home care or elderly care.
History of community involvement.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
