About The Position

Visiting Angels of Anniston is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Pell City, Anniston, New London, Lincoln, Coal City, Oxford, and Saks. Aides help clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Client visits vary, and aides may provide personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility support, companionship, and other assistance. They must also respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Shift options include full-time and PRN, with varied shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion and interest in providing meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including movement around the home, doctor visits, and walks.
Act quickly in medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
