About The Position

Levin Furniture & Mattress is seeking an experienced independent contractor to inspect, evaluate, and repair furniture at customers’ homes. The contractor represents the company’s customer-service standards and manages their own schedule within assigned service areas. This is a contractor role, not an employee position. Contractors must maintain their own business entity or operate as a sole proprietor, provide proof of general liability insurance, supply their own repair tools and equipment, and be responsible for their own taxes and business expenses. They must also comply with company confidentiality and customer-information requirements.

Requirements

• Experience with furniture repair, upholstery repair, wood repair, furniture assembly, or related trades.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage appointments efficiently.
• Ability to lift and move furniture weighing approximately 50–100 pounds.
• A smartphone or tablet capable of submitting digital photos and service documentation.
• Maintain a business entity or operate as a sole proprietor.
• Provide proof of general liability insurance.
• Supply the tools and equipment needed to perform repairs.
• Be responsible for own taxes and business expenses.
• Comply with company confidentiality and customer-information requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair furniture merchandise in customers’ homes.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Complete service documentation, including digital photographs and repair notes.
• Maintain an inventory of replacement parts and repair supplies.
• Safely handle and move furniture as needed during repairs.
• Communicate repair status and service outcomes promptly.
• Comply with company service standards and customer-care expectations.
